Chef Mike Isabella’s restaurant was anything but a traditional Italian eatery. Seasonal, artisanal pizzas and small plates inspired by the food he grew up eating in New Jersey prepared by his Italian-American grandmother were must-haves at a time when the DC food scene was making a name for itself on the national stage.
